the village

june 8, 2007

For lack of a better name, I've opened up "The Village" section today. All I have working right now are user polls and user questions. I've got a guestbook and add-on story feature on the way! Check it out, add some polls, answer some questions. Plenty of errors to find, too, I'm sure.

grand opening: photo album

february 1, 2007

I've been busy on the site while there's still no one that visits it. I got a dynamic photo album up using Plogger (not that you could ever tell) after weeks of fiddling with it I think I finally got it working seemlessly with ChristieMADE... this makes uploading pictures 100x easier for me, so I might actually be encouraged to add new content (imagine that!) and I also got ChristieMADE user commenting working with it. So if you're a member you can comment on the photos. Now, there's one thing that makes having an account useful...

IE sucks, Firefox rulesAnother change to note is the switch from a fixed width to 100% width. This wasn't really that necessary, but it does allow for some extra room for content. Oh, yes, and by the way, you can only see what I'm talking about here if you're NOT using Internet Explorer. I've made my IE ban official. I'm so sick of dealing with them and trying to get complient code to work with it. If Microsoft can't play by the rules, then I'm not going to let it on the playground, if you know what I mean. I don't think you can even imagine how many un-solvable problems IE had with 100% width. That's not to say the site doesn't look amazing in IE, it simply is fixed-width in IE so you won't even notice a change. I'm sure there's a bazillion errors going on now that I made this switch so um, let me know if you see anything really out of wack.

And with that, the only thing I have left on my to-do list that I promised you guys last August (more like I promised myself) is blogging. This is actually coming along fairly well, I just need to make some important decisions about it such as... who can read what blogs and exactly WHAT am I going to be blogging about? If I'm not bitching about my personal life, I probably just have a funny link to share every now and then, seeing as how I'm not much into politics........ gosh I'm babbling.

This update really needs a photo...there we go.
