Christie Who?
Hello! I am a full time freelance web developer, strong on front-end and full stack WordPress. My degree is in Imaging and Digital Arts from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (Go Retrievers!) . Working in the industry for over 25 years, I have lots of experience, and most of what I know I learned from working in the field, pushing my limits, and having a strong curiosity about the web.
Skillset
I made my mark with CSS, XHTML and Cross-browser compatibility, and pixel perfect implementation and keep up to date with the latest web standards, including responsive web builds for tablet and mobile, HTML5/CSS3 implementation for dynamic graphical elements, and the latest SEO-friendly coding standards. I work on and own both Macs and PCs.
Front end or backend, it makes no difference, I’m also proficient in PHP programming and MySQL database solutions. I use these to create dynamic websites and complex web applications. My back-end experience on the LAMP bundle led to a natural foray into Content Management Systems. I have built 100+ websites in Drupal; from PSD/Sketch/Figma to launch, theming to solution building. I am also an expert with WordPress website building and custom plugin and theme development. WordPress is currently my favorite CMS to build with.
I’ve also built a handful of E-Commerce Solutions with software such as ZenCart, X-Cart, IMS Cart, WooCommerce, GoDaddy, Ubercart (Drupal), Commerce (Drupal), Shopify, WineDirect, and PayPal. I’ve built sites inside of frameworks such as Smarty, Symphony, and Zend, and have have developed websites for notable companies such as Lax World, Gear Wrench®, DHL Global Mail, and Johns Hopkins International. I also have experience with RSS Feeds (XML), JavaScript (jQuery/ES6), SCSS (SASS), HubSpot, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, version control with repositories (GitHub, Bitbucket), E-mail campaigns, Google Analytics, Page Speed Optimization, ADA compliancy, and API integrations.
